Chrome Ferrari 458 hits the track

There’s nothing new about seeing an exotic car in a shiny chrome wrapper.  The difference here is the look-at-me body sticker on this Ferrari isn’t being used to grab attention outside the local casino in the UAE.  Instead this is a shiny little toy used to distract drivers on the track.

These photos were taken at Palm Beach International Raceway as part of the track days of the Cavallino Classic taking place this week.   We’ll have more coverage from the Cavallino over the weekend, but we thought it would be nice to start off with a shiny little preview.

The current owner of the car is Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale.  They simply took a black 458 Challenge that ran in last year’s series and turned it into a promotional piece.  So as a dealer-owned car, this Ferrari could be picked up for the right price (and of course, turned back into a badass black car.)  Since Ferrari is a premium marque, we suspect any salesperson will resist the urge to ask potential buyers, “Can you see yourself in this car?”
