The Germans may love David Hasselhoff, but it is the Austrians who truly want to be him. What better evidence then a few guys recreating the intro from The Hoff’s most famous show. Of course these guys had to improvise by trading desert sands for frozen tundra, and KITT’s super sweet third generation Pontiac Firebird has an every day Fiat Panda for a stand-in:
These guys seemed to be about as faithful to the original Knight Rider intro as their shoestring budget likely allowed. They even added a few extra scenes (we’re pretty sure at no time did the real KITT have to prove himself against a Golf GTI.) Besides, anyone willing to go full speed at a snow jump (remember, Pandas are quite slow) just for some major on-camera turbo boost hoonage deserves our respect.
So enjoy this hilarious journey into trying to recreate the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Be sure to stick around for the blooper reel at the end.
