It seems there is a funny little coincidence happening at Volkswagen.
The new Passat is available with a 2.0-liter diesel. This turbocharged, direct-injection motor is identified on the rear of the cars as “TDI”. On the new Passat these letters are placed on the upper right corner of the trunk where car’s trim level is also indicated. For the few Passats that are ordered in top-of-the-line SEL trim with the diesel engine, an interesting visual takes place.
The rear “TDI SEL” badging looks like the Passat is playing Wheel of Fortune with its own feature as it is one letter away from T-Diesel (turbo diesel). Yes, this is not exactly breaking news, but it is a funny little piece of automotive happenstance.
